Ep1 – A Swordsman’s Destiny
A rainy night, the silence broken by thunder without lighting. On the rooftop of a building Tanya lands with her sword in her hand and starts running. A few feet behind her, Maverick and Terry were trying to keep up. They run towards Marcus and Zane who were ardently fighting with their swords on the rooftop of the building in front of them. “Where are Navaro and Magnus?” Tanya asked. “Magnus said he’s on his way with Josey but I haven’t been able to contact Navaro,” Terry answered. “We can handle these guys without’m!” Maverick boasted. Tanya remained silent and kept running till the edge of the building but when they tried to jump to the next one, they had to parry blows coming from three opponents. They all landed on the streets and prepared for a confrontation In front of them ready to fight were Vincent, Gorgon and Yorin. They were smiling but not because they wanted to fight, it seemed that there was more on their minds. Tanya did not waste time on words and charged them with her sword but was met by Yorin, while Gorgon and Vincent attacked the others two. After Tanya blocked an attack from Yorin she ran up the side of the building a few feet, then jumped and rotated in the air and charged up her sword. “Maverick, let’s go!” she shouted while she was still airborne. Maverick got away from Vincent and after getting Terry out of the way by throwing him on top of a van, he waited for Tanya to get right next to him. “Ready?” she asked. “As always, sugar,” he replied smiling. Both their swords started glowing. Sparks were coming out of Lightning Strike that started vibrating while Tanya’s A Thousand Cuts was covered in blue waves as if covered in water. Their three opponents started shaking and looked nervous and when the two weapons were ready to strike, they tried to run off but were hit by the two energy beams that came from them. The one from Maverick’s looked like a lightning bolt, as its name suggested while the one from Tanya was like hundreds of tiny blades that rushed towards them. When their attack stopped, the three opponents were on the ground unconscious. “I told you we could handle it,” Maverick said putting his sword back in its sheath. “You didn’t have to throw me so hard,” Terry complained with an annoyed look on his face. Tanya wasted no time in running into the building and going up the stairs. At a few feet away from the door that led to the rooftop she heard a scream that sent a chill through her body. When she opened the door she screamed as she saw that Marcus was on the ground with a large wound in his abdomen that was bleeding heavily. Zane was sitting on a ventilation shaft looking at the stars a few feet away from him. Tanya ran to Marcus and picked up his head with her left hand, while putting her right hand on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. A few seconds after that, Maverick and Terry appeared and were about to fight Zane when he said: “This fight is over,” and jumped off the roof. Tanya was crying over Marcus’ body but he managed to smile at her and put the back of his right hand on her cheek. “Don’t cry, my dear. My death will only bring about a brighter future to which my successor will lead the way,” Marcus said smiling with blood dripping out of his mouth. “Don’t you dare die on me! Our wedding is next week!” she said sobbing. “Look’s like… we’ll have to cancel…” he said then closed his eyes for the last time. A few moments after he closed his eyes, his sword, Diamond Edge levitated several metres above them, glowed bright blue and disappeared. In another part of the city, Casey was walking home wearing a raincoat and carrying grocery bags. He was walking fast because of the terrible wind. He finally reached his home, a small house with two stories, a small garden and a wooden fence surrounding it. He entered the house and was greeted by three children, two boys and one girl who were jumping up and down around him. “Alright, you guys! Take it easy!” Casey said going into the kitchen putting the bags on a table. “Have you guys finished your chores?” “I did!” Andy said. “So did I!” Max added. “But Dana didn’t take out the trash.” “But it was heavy,” Dana complained. “Alright, alright… you guys take care of these, I’ll take the trash out,” he said picking up the black trash bag. He walked outside, covering his head with the hood of the raincoat and after putting the bag in the trash can, turned around and was going to go back inside when he heard a voice say: “You are chosen.” A bright light shined behind him and when he turned around he saw a large sword with a golden handle and a blue blade floating in mid air. “What the…?” he asked surprised. The sword floated towards him and his hand reached out and grabbed it as if it was drawn by it and the moment he touched it a surge of energy went through his entire body. He floated in mid air for a few seconds then fell on the ground. When he got up he heard the same voice as before say: “I am Diamond Edge and from this day forth, you are my Swordsman.”

Ep2 – A mysterious power
The next morning the suns rays woke Casey up, he found himself in his room, lying on the bed, still wearing the raincoat from last night. Next to him, on the bed, the sword that came to him the night before. He picked it up and looked at it confused. ‘What happened last night?’ he said to himself. He waited for it to respond as it did the previous night. When it didn’t he asked himself: ‘Was it only a dream? Where did you come from?’ After taking off both the raincoat and the clothes he had slept in he went to the bathroom and took a shower. He looked dizzy and his memories from the previous night were still hazy. He changed his clothes then went downstairs and found that his younger brothers had already made him breakfast that consisted of two sandwiches and a glass of orange juice. He was silent while he ate and smiled from time to time when the others looked at him. After breakfast he walked his siblings to school, then went straight to work at the bike shop. As he walked towards the front door he noticed that there was a note on it. The note read: <I’ll be gone for a while. Take care of the shop while I’m gone. I’m counting on you, Case!> “Oh not again,” Casey complained. He took the note off and entered the shop. After changing into his already stained overall he started working on one of the bikes there. All the time he kept thinking over what had happened to him. ‘That sword spoke to me, that much I’m sure of. It said its name… was Diamond Edge. I’ve never heard of swords having names, except for Excalibur. Must have been a weird dream, did me good, though. I’ve never felt so full of energy before.’ After work he went to a dojo just down the street from where he worked. There he changed into the traditional clothes and started exercising with a wooden sword. Something felt very natural to him about holding that weapon in his hand and his movements were more skilled than before. He also attracted the attention of a few other students there, one of which had always picked on him. “Hey hot shot! How about facing a real opponent? Or do you think you can’t handle me… again?” the student said mockingly. “Give me your best shot!” Casey said with a confident smile on his face. The other student took a sword from the rack and attacked Casey who blocked it with incredible ease. He pushed him back but the student came at him again with a fierce look on his face but Casey managed to block that attack as well. That time Casey didn’t waste time and he immediately pushed the student back and then landed a blow to his head that made him fall to the ground. He then pointed his sword at him and said with a proud smirk on his face: “Yield.” The student dropped the sword and looked disappointed and angry. The others started cheering Casey but he was still in shock after defeating one of the best students in the dojo. Going home he felt different as if something was changing inside him and he kept looking at the sky. When he got home he made dinner for his siblings and after eating he went up to his room and stared at the sword. He took a magnifying glass out of a desk and started examining it but he didn’t know what he was looking for. Less than an hour later he was asleep at his desk. In another part of town, on a rooftop, Tanya sat on the edge looking at the star-filled sky. Maverick and Magnus walked up to her but she didn’t turn around. “Has the new Swordsman been found?” she asked. “Not yet,” Magnus answered. “Are we even sure Diamond Edge has found a new owner yet?” Maverick asked. “You know the Dakkai don’t waste time in finding a new owner. We have to find him before the others do if we don’t want them to find him first.” While he was still asleep, the sword on Casey’s desk started glowing and outside his window Zane, hidden by darkness, stood on the rooftop looking at him. On the ground Vincent was waiting for him to come down and when he landed he asked: “Is it him?” “Yes. Go to him tomorrow, see what you can do.”

Ep3 – Friend or foe?
The next day, Casey woke up with a backache from sleeping at his desk all night. After rubbing his eyes and stood up on his bed. He looked tired and moved slowly. In his mind he cursed at the sword: “I think I’ll turn you in for scrap.” After taking a quick shower and brushing his teeth, he made breakfast and woke up his siblings. After walking them to school he went to work but on the way he kept feeling like someone was following him. He kept looking behind him to see if anyone was there but every time he did, there was no one there. After a while he heard someone’s footsteps not too far behind him and when he turned he saw Vincent walking towards him. Casey had a serious look on his face and knew that man had something to do with the sword. “Who are you? What do you want?” “I… am Vincent. And what I want is to talk to you,” Vincent replied smiling. “Talk about what?” Casey asked “That sword that came to you a little while ago.” Casey was shocked when he heard him but remained silent. “And about why you’ve been feeling so strange lately,” Vincent continued. “And I suppose you know what happened to me?” Casey asked with a frown. “I do. You see, that sword you were given has a lot of power and it has started to change you. You must have felt its effects already.” Casey listened silently because what Vincent was telling him was true. “You’ve been feeling stronger, haven’t you?” “Strong enough!” Casey stated lifting his right fist. “Easy now,” Vincent said smiling. “I didn’t come here to fight you, I came to talk to you.” Casey kept looking at him with a doubting look on his face as they walked to his bike shop. “So let me see if I get this straight,” Casey said when they got to the bike shop. “That sword is possessed by an ancient spirit called Dakkai.” “Yes,” Vincent confirmed. “And you expect me to believe this spirit needs someone to use it and out of the billions of people on this planet, it chose me?” “That’s right,” Vincent said nodding. “And because it chose me I’m suddenly getting stronger and faster? And to make things interesting, there are others who have spirit swords like the one I have and they fight each other because of it.” “That about sums it up,” Vincent said with the same calm smile as before. Casey entered the shop, took a soda out of the refrigerator and sat down. After opening it and taking a long drink said: “You’ll have to forgive me if I think that’s the biggest truckload of bullshit I’ve ever heard.” Vincent started laughing at him, so hard he had to hold his stomach with his hands while Casey looked at him confused. When he stopped laughing he stretched out his right arm and after a few sparks came out of his palm the Silver Horror came out from nowhere and he grabbed it by the handle. “Do you believe me now?” Vincent asked holding the blade in front of his face, covering part of it. “S-sure thing,” Casey said shaking. Just then Vincent ran out of the building and when Casey followed him outside, he found that Vincent was standing in front of Maverick and Tanya. “I must leave you now, but don’t trust these guys,” Vincent said and ran off. Maverick ran after him while Tanya walked towards Casey who looked nervous looking at her threatening appearance.

Ep4 – Having faith
Tanya was standing only a few feet in front of Casey who was thinking: ‘Oh great! If what that guy said was true does that mean I have to fight her?’ She looked serious and after she stopped for a few moments to look at him said: “I don’t know what lies he’s been telling you but if there is evil in this world, he is one that embodies it.” Casey was speechless and looked at her confused. ‘How am I supposed to know who’s telling me the truth?’ he asked himself. “And why should I believe you and not him? It’s true he didn’t give me any reason to trust him but that goes the same for you!” Casey said. “How dare you!” Tanya snapped at him. “Easy, gorgeous,” Maverick said returning. “The kid’s got a point. He just learned about everything today so he has no reason to trust anyone.” “He got away?” Tanya asked crossing her arms over her chest. “Yeah… the guy’s faster than he looks. Listen, let me talk to the rookie while you go back and report, k?” “Very well,” Tanya said turning around. After she left, the two went inside the shop and started talking. “So part of what he said was true? About the Dakkai, the swords and why I’m getting stronger,” Casey said sitting on a chair. “That’s right. And part of what he said about the fighting is too. There are others who have swords like this, you’ve already met three of them. But we fight each other because of the struggle between heaven and hell… literally,” Maverick answered leaning against a wall. “So angels and demons really live among us?” Casey asked. “They do. And it’s our job as Blades of Light to protect the angels living here if they’re discovered. Just like the Blood edges protect the demons here on earth.” “I don’t know,” Casey said walking to a window. “This is a lot to handle. I need some time to think because I still don’t have a reason to take your word over his or vice-versa.” “For that you need faith, at least that’s what our boss says,” Maverick replied. “And who is your boss?” Casey asked turning around. “You’ll meet him if you join us,” Maverick answered smiling. “You’re annoying, you know that?” Casey stated. Maverick left Casey to think things over and after finishing work he went back home. He took the next day off, still unsure who was telling him the truth. As evening came, Vincent showed up in front of Casey’s house with his sword in his right hand. Casey came out alone but left the door open. “So? What is your answer?” Vincent asked. Just then, Tanya and Maverick came out of the house. Tanya had a fierce look on her face but Maverick was smiling as usual. “I see…” Vincent stated. “Then we shall meet each other on the battlefield. Until then… adieu!” They let Vincent leave but it was obvious Tanya would have preferred it otherwise. “If I made the wrong choice… I’ll kick your ass,” Casey said looking at Maverick. “Why am I always to blame for everything?” Maverick complained. “We are the right choice. I just hope you are as well,” Tanya stated with a cold look on her face. Casey didn’t understand what she meant by that but didn’t say anything else.

Ep5 – A rival among allies
Once Casey was convinced who the good guys were, Tanya and Maverick gave him a day to prepare to enter his new life. When they returned a day later, a slight problem appeared in their plans. “You can’t be serious!” Tanya argued. “I’m very serious! I have a family to look after so where I go they go,” Casey replied. “Can’t we talk this over?” Maverick asked trying to calm them down. “There is nothing to talk about! These children cannot come with us! The life of a Swordsman is very cramped, they will be in the way!” Tanya argued. “Hey! My brothers and sister mean more to me than anything else! So if they can’t come with me, then I’m not leaving!” Casey replied. “Maybe we can reach a compromise,” Maverick said smiling. An hour later a blue van arrives at a large mansion. In the hallway, Magnus and Terry greet the new arrivals: Casey and his siblings. “Welcome! You must be Casey,” Magnus said shaking his hand. “Hi, I’m Terry,” Terry said and rushed off with a handful of books in his hands. “But what’s with the kids?” Magnus asked looking at them. “Well… we had to reach a compromise. I’ll tell you later,” Maverick answered. Maverick led them to their rooms that were located upstairs. Casey received a room of his own. It was pretty big, compared to his old room. It had a bed, a desk and a chair, a small bookcase and a door that led to a small bathroom. The bathroom only had the bare necessities: a shower, a toilet and a sink and medicine cabinet. His brothers had to share a room, just as big while his sister would share with one Josey. “Is she a Swordsman too?” Casey asked when he heard a new name mentioned. “She is,” Magnus answered. “There’s seven of us, counting you as well. You’ve met all of us but Josey and Navaro.” “Who’s Navaro?” Casey asked intrigued. “He’s the top dog!” Maverick answered. “But don’t count on seeing him very soon. He’s not what you’d call a people person.” After that, Maverick and Magnus took him on a tour of the mansion. They showed him the kitchen, the training room, they saw Tanya on her way there but she completely ignored them. When they reached the gardens Magnus was eager to show him the sculptures, seeing as he built them. One of them was of a beautiful woman, while another was of a harp. “Wow! Not bad,” Casey stated. “I don’t mean to brag… but they’re pretty good,” Magnus said smirking. Casey was so impressed by the sculptures he never noticed that Josey and Terry were sitting nearby. She started gazing at him the moment she saw him. “Hey, Ter! Who’s that?” Josey asked pointing at Casey. “Oh he just got here with Tanya and Maverick. He’s the new guy. You know, the one Diamond Edge chose,” Terry answered “Wow!” she exclaimed. ‘He’s cute,’ she said to herself smiling A few moments later, Casey saw the young woman and walked over smiling. “Hi! I’m Casey.” “I’m Josey,” she said blushing. After meeting almost everyone, Casey was allowed to settle in. he unpacked a few clothes and took a few minutes to look out his window to see his new home before his brothers barged in. “Mr. Red Hair said to get you. Dinner’s ready!” Andy said. “Alright! Go get your sister and I’ll meet you downstairs,” Casey replied smiling. After dinner they retired in the living room Casey was listening to their stories when the front doors opened and everyone became silent. Moments later Navaro came in. “Hey boss-man! Come meet the new guy!” Maverick said getting his attention. Navaro walked over to them, looked at Casey passively then turned and walked towards the staircase. When he got there he stopped, turned his head and said: “This is the one Diamond Edge has chosen? He seems… insufficient,” Navaro said and left the room. Casey stood up and was going to go after him but Maverick stopped him. “That’s not a good idea, sport,” Maverick stated. “Navaro may not be the nicest guy but he is the strongest.” ‘Hm… for now…’ Casey said to himself.

Ep6 – Training
After a few days of getting used to everything and learning a little more about the entire situation, Magnus decided it was time to put Casey to work. One morning he took him to the training room. Both were wearing traditional clothes. Magnus took two wooden swords from a rack and handed one to Casey. “Alright, kid! Let’s see what you got!” Magnus said taking an attack pose. “Let’s go old man!” Casey said with a confident smirk. Casey attacked but not with all his strength and was surprised Magnus simply dodged his attack, almost making him lose his footing. “You’re pretty nimble,” Casey stated. “I’m not as old as you might think,” Magnus replied smiling. Casey wasted no time in preparing another attacked and charged his opponent again. This time, Magnus blocked his attack and pushed him back a few feet. Casey realised his opponent at the dojo from the other day must have felt the way he did now. He attacked again and again but the result was the same. Eventually, Josey and Terry came in, attracted by the commotion and watched the two as they sparred. Casey was sweating and breathing hard. His clothes were messy from all the falls he took, while Magnus had barely exerted himself. The calm and joking way the older man looked at him only made Casey angrier. “Come on kid! You can do better than that!” Magnus said smiling. “So said the two hundred and twenty pound man waving a ten pound sword at me,” Casey said trying to defend himself. “I’m making comments on your technique, rookie, not your strength. And if you must know I’m a hundred and ninety five.” As the two fought, their audience, Terry and Josey gazed at them amazed. “The new guy’s pretty good to be able to stand after all that,” Terry stated. “He sure is…” Josey replied with a big smile on her face. Hours later, they were still at it. Casey was barely standing from all the effort and even Magnus was starting to sweat. They had already broken a few swords and were at their last two. Casey tried one last attack but Magnus faced him head on and broke his weapon again, then hit him in the ribs and knocked him to the floor. “That’s enough for one day,” Magnus said sitting down on a bench and wiping the sweat off with a towel. “Because I’m a fair man… I’ll let you… catch your breath…” Casey said breathing hard. “Still have the energy to be a smart ass, eh?” Magnus joked. “To be honest kid, you’re tougher than I thought. Technically speaking both Terry and Josey are above your level right now and they’re the weakest of us.” “Are you kidding me?!” Casey protested. “They’re a few years younger than me.” “Not in experience they’re not. You may be pretty good with the sword against those flabby armed punks at that dojo of yours but talking in Swordsman terms… you’re barely learning your ABCs.” Casey didn’t appreciate his comments but remained silent and listened. “You’ve already learned that the Dakkai make you stronger and faster than an average person and it only gets better the more you use the sword. It’s true that some receive more than others do. Others receive the same amount but at different speeds. It depends on a lot of different factors.” “Such as?” Casey asked sitting next to him. “The Dakkai the person owns, his or her own constitution, what they go through… and others, maybe some even I don’t know,” Magnus explained. “Hold on! You said that you get better in time then why is Navaro the best and not you?” Casey inquired. “You’re obviously older.” “Like I said, some receive more than others. It took me a while to be able to use the hidden power.” “Hidden power?” Casey said confused. “It’s basically a supercharged attack every Dakkai has and each is unique. But not everyone can use that power. For example, only two of the Blood Edges can use it and among us, only Terry and Josey can’t use it yet. And you of course but that’s all in the potential of the Swordsman.” “I see,” Casey said looking at the floor. “Do you think I have potential?” “What’s with the melancholy all of a sudden? If it’ll make you feel better, from what I saw today I think you can become as strong as Maverick, at least.” “Thanks Magnus,” Casey said smiling. “Now let’s get some lunch and then we can get started on some real training,” the older man said with an evil grin. “What?!” Casey said shocked. “And what have we been doing all day?” “That was a sparring match,” Magnus answered grinning. “Ah… man.”

Ep7 – The higher power
Casey’s training continued every day and by nightfall he was bruised and exhausted. One night he was so tired he went to sleep without eating. He woke up the next morning, still sore from the training. He took a shower before going downstairs, to try and wake up but he was still sleepy. When he left his room and went downstairs, he met Josey. “Hey, Casey! Would you mind going to the store with me before you start training?” she said looking innocent. “Sure. Let me just get my jacket.” They left in a hurry but on the way to the store Casey asked: “What do you have to buy that you have to go so early?” “Uh… well…” Josey said looking nervous. “You OK?” Casey asked confused. “I didn’t exactly have to buy anything,” Josey said starting to sweat. “What do you mean?” Casey asked even more confused. “Um… well…” Josey said and started to blush. Casey still didn’t understand what she was up to but and was even more confused that when they got to the store she didn’t go in. “Alright, what’s going on?” Casey asked crossing his arms over his chest. “Y-you’ve been training so hard lately… I just wanted to get you away from it so you could rest,” she said shaking and blushing even more than before. “Why didn’t you say so in the first place?” Casey said smiling. “Eh?” “I’d do anything to get away from that sadistic trainer,” he added. Josey stopped shaking and smiled instead of blushing. “So what did you have in mind?” She took him to an amusement park a few blocks away where they went on all sorts of rides and won a lot of prizes. Josey even had the chance to humiliate him at target practice and won a prize for him. They ate all sorts of food, from cotton candy to hotdogs and drank a lot of soda. Towards the end of the day, as they were walking back Casey looked troubled by something. “Hey Josey. Why don’t Navaro and Tanya like me?” he asked. She was surprised by his question but answered: “Well… you see, the last Swordsman chosen by Diamond Edge was the best. Even better than Navaro.” Casey listened silently, intrigued by the story. “His name was Marcus and he and Navaro were the best friends and most ardent rivals. As for Tanya… she was his fiancée.” He was shocked by the news but somehow it made perfect sense. They saw him as someone who was trying to replace their loved one and did not accept him. “I… I hope you had fun,” she said and started to blush again just as they reached the mansion. “Don’t worry! I had a blast!” he stated opening the door. Tanya, Magnus and Maverick awaited them, the first two with angry looks on their faces. “Well it was fun while it lasted…” Casey said while Josey hid behind him. “You wanted to see the boss? He’s here to see you,” Maverick said then led him into the living room. Everyone was sitting around an armchair where Jason was sitting, wearing a white suit. Even Navaro stood beside him and without the mean look he usually had on. Everyone turned towards Casey when he came in. The figure in front of him made Casey freeze and he gazed at him thinking he was the most beautiful and flawless person he had ever seen. Jason walked slowly next to him with a calm smile on his face and extended his hand. Casey took his hand and the instant he touched it, his mind cleared up and he felt calm. “I’m pleased to make your acquaintance, Casey,” Jason said smiling. “Y-yeah… me too.” The two left the room and went to the gardens to talk. Jason sat on a bench while Casey sat on one opposite to him. For a few minutes Jason examined him, which made Casey nervous again. “I’m glad to see we have such a promising new addition to the team,” Jason stated. “Me… promising?” “Indeed. I haven’t seen so much potential since Marcus, I suppose it is fitting you are his successor. The main reason I came here was to see if you had questions you wanted to ask.” “Actually I do,” Casey said looking more confident. “I understand that we, that is the Swordsmen are recruited by one side and the other to fight either demons or angels, like yourself. And that the two sides made an agreement long ago that neither team is to have more members than the other, even though the Blood Edges tried to recruit me. What I don’t understand is… why does God allow demons to walk the earth?” His question intrigued Jason and his smiling face was replaced by a serious expression. “Only two others have asked me that question and I will give you the same answer. It’s because He wants to test humanity.” After that, Jason stood up and walked towards the house but stopped when Casey asked: “Who were the other two that asked you that question?” “Marcus and Navaro,” he answered without turning.

Ep8 – First fight
Casey was out with Terry and Josey. It was a beautiful afternoon and although she protested, Casey was carrying most of the bags. It was warm so he was wearing a tank top and his muscles were tense because of the weight. “I still don’t like it,” she said looking at the small bag she had in her hands. “Don’t worry about it,” Casey said smiling. “Since I started that old man’s training, I’ve been feeling full of energy.” “He’s right,” Terry agreed. “Besides look at his arms. He looks like a weight lifter.” “That old man’s training may be hard but it sure pays off,” Casey stated. Suddenly they a strange feeling came over them and moments later, Vincent and Gorgon were standing in front of them. “Well, well, well… what do we have here?” Gorgon said smiling. “It looks like we found a few shiners all alone.” “I told you we’d meet again,” Vincent said pointing his sword at Casey. Casey couldn’t say a word and froze when he saw the two. He remembered the power he felt when Vincent summoned Silver Horror back at his shop and was too afraid to move. Terry summoned Quaker and stepped in front of Casey: “Josey, get him out of here while I stall them.” Terry charged the two enemies while Josey grabbed Casey by the arm and ran off. Gorgon blocked Terry’s attack while Vincent ran after the other two. “You’re no match for me, little man,” Gorgon said smiling. “We’ll just see about that,” Terry replied. Meanwhile Josey and Casey were running as fast of they could to get away but were soon cut off by Vincent. “Looks like Diamond Edge is going to change owners again,” Vincent said smiling. “Not if I can help it!” Josey said and summoned Maelstrom. She attacked him with all her force. She managed to attempt to hit him three times but the third attack he did not just block but he pushed her back and then cut her right arm, making her drop her sword. Then he punched her in the stomach, making her collapse. All the while, Casey was unable to move, seeing Josey so much stronger than him but still not a match for Vincent was too overwhelming. With Josey unconscious, there was n one left to fight Vincent but him. Unfortunately, Casey had absolutely no chance to even survive the fight, let alone win. “You should have joined us,” Vincent said licking Josey’s blood on his sword. “Let me think about it… ok I thought about it, no!” Casey said with a smirk. “I’ll wipe that smirk off your face tight away!” Vincent said and charged him. He was moving so fast, Casey didn’t stand a chance against him. He closed his eyes and waited to be attacked while holding his sword in front of him. He heard a noise of two swords clashing but it was not his. When he opened his eyes, Navaro stood with his back to him and was facing Vincent. “Well… if it isn’t no.2 to the rescue,” Vincent said smirking. “Oh wait! You’re number one now.” Navaro didn’t reply. He only frowned and pushed him back but before he could attack, Vincent ran off. Casey was still shaken by everything and didn’t dare move. Navaro turned around, looked at him and said: “Worse than insufficient, you’re useless. Don’t you have anything to fight for?” Navaro left just as Josey was starting to wake up. She looked around and seeing Navaro leave turned to Casey who was still in the position he took when Vincent attacked. “Casey… are you ok?” she asked getting up and holding her wounded arm. He didn’t answer. His expression had more anger and frustration than ever before. “What’s wrong?” she asked putting her hand on his and making him lower his sword. “He said… I’m useless.” “Who, Navaro? He only does that to annoy people, he thinks he’s better than everyone else, if u ask me…” “He’s right,” Casey interrupted. Josey was stunned by his statement and couldn’t finish her sentence. “But I promise. I’ll never be useless again,” he said with a determined look on his face.
