Avenger in the whirlwind [da...inca un fic cu naruto....read or die!]

The two stood silent in the middle of the rugged terrain. Neither able to say a word, but neither willing to flinch either. Each had imagined this scene in his mind for the past 3 years, but reality had come upon them like a typhoon on the japanese shores.
From the East came Uzumaki Naruto, a boy with a dream of hokage, who had vowed to retrieve his friend from darkness. Usually cheerful and always with a smile on his face, now Naruto was in no mood for jokes. His face showed no trace of fear or hesitation, and his posture glimmered with determination.
The one Naruto was showing this appearance to was Uchiha Sasuke, the last son of his clan, a self-proclaimed avenger who had cut all bonds with the past in exchange for the power to kill one man. He stood quite differently from his opponent. Calm and composed, left hand resting on his hip, the boy had embraced darkness, and was running from the light of his old aquaitances. He had become so much like the one he hated so, and his face showed this better than anything: emotionless and cold.
"No running this time, Sasuke?"
"I'm in no hurry. And neither should you be...death is not something to rush towards."
"I didn't come all this way just to lay down and die."
"We both know why you're here. The thing is you don't yet understand."
"What do you mean?"
"It's not me you want back...it's the old weak Uchiha boy...the one who couldn't protect his family, the one who was not even worth killing..." saying this, Sasuke thought of Itachi again and did his best not to let his anger transpire. "He is dead...the boy you want. But if you want him that badly"...Sasuke drew his Chokutou..."I'll send you on your way to see him again!"
Naruto slowly closed his eyes and sighed. "Weakness isn't something you can kill, Sasuke...." Naruto looked at his gripped fist. "It's something you overcome!". Naruto drew a kunai and prepared for the clash. The tension was rising, as the two started running towards each other. Time seemed to stand still as they crossed blades. Sasuke attacked from above, Naruto blocked and push back the blade. He than charged, with a piercing attack, but his adversary spun to avoid, slashing sideways. Naruto jumped to dodge, and then came down hard, with his kunai, stricking the sword, pushing it down, and attempting to punch sasuke. The boy let go of the sword, grabbed naruto's hand, and threw him back. naruto landed safely though, and instantly turned toward sasuke, who was calmly picking up his weapon and sheathing it.
then sasuke spoke: "Ninja lesson number one....."
and naruto replied: "Taijutsu...yeah, i remember too...i'm surprised you do...."
"even though i broke all ties with that place, i have to admit, it made me a bit stronger. Kakashi's hard to forget...maybe i'll get the chance to fight him too...after we're done here..."
naruto smiled..."is the warm-up boring you that much, that you start day-dreaming?"
"so that's what it was....i thought you had a death wish, fighting like that, so i thought of giving you a break..."
naruto allmost laughed. "okay...then let me return the favour..." naruto charged at sasuke again. "hmmm" sasuke thought "a straight charge is just like him....this is getting boring...i'l end it." sasuke tried to punch naruto, and hit his chest. "all too easy....what?" sasuke now saw, that naruto had caught his fist after it hit. from behind him, another one appeared, doing a downward hammer punch. sasuke kicked the clone, but it grabbed his leg instantly. from behind, naruto came swiftly, kunai in hand: "Sennen Goroshi! [Thousand years of pain]". Sasuke was dumbfounded, but not willing to let this happen. summonig his chidori field, he dispersed the clones, but naruto was too fast. his attack connected, but only hit a kawarimi [replacement]. sasuke began his attack now, kicking the wide open naruto in the air. Sasuke then moved in, to execute the rest of the combo...but naruto thougt quickly, summoning a clone for each hit of the combo. sasuke's attacks dispelled the clones, and now, in mid air they faced each other. naruto thought: "now, i'll block his last hit, and use the clones to slam him....what?" sasuke quickly formed the seals for his jutsu, and shouted: Goukakyu no jutsu! the fireball flew toward the defenceless naruto. sasuke smiled, picturing his succesful attack...but naruto wasn't done. sasuke couldn't see, but he heard the all too familiar shout: RASENGAN! Naruto had blocked the fireball with the spiraling sphere. he spun in the air, and landed safely.
naruto shook the dust of his shoulder and said: "ninja lesson number three..."
sasuke replied: "ninjutsu...it's just like you to copy me...though we ARE making fast progress."

Wow, o scena de lupta cum nu vezi multe, si un cadru extrem de realist. Se pare ca scrii fanficuri la fel de bine cum faci si AMV-uri; descrierea curge bine, e usor lizibil si atractiv. Replicile...(cand l-ai facut pe Naruto asa de intelept?) m-au cam lasatmasca, si nu as as avea nimic de criticat, ci doar o intrebare.

 Crezi ca Sasuke chiar il mai respecta/admira/ceva pe kakashi? pentru ca dupa comportamentul sau din anime (n-am citit manga, shame on me), as spune ca kakashi si-a pierdut valoarea dupa ce l-a invatat pe sasuke sigura tehnica ce nu putea fi copiata, Chidori. Nush, e doar parerea mea, dar cred ca sasuke a putut parasi in cele din urma Konoha (Kakashi fiind singura sa legatura cu visul razbunarii) abia dupa ce a decis ca senseiul sau nu il mai putea invatat nimic.

naruto leapt to his feet, without taking his eyes of his opponent. he knew this had just been an ouverture. the main act would be decisive. naruto tried to smile to shake the fear from his mind, but sasuke could see through it.
"is it that frightening?" he asked in a calm tone.
"what are you talking about?" naruto replied.
"am i to understand you learned nothing from our last meeting?"
naruto remembered all too well...how sasuke easily approached him, how he entered his mind, and even subdued the demon fox. "i won't be forgeting that anytime soon. but i'll only say it once: of you use THAT again, we'll both regret it..."
sasuke giggled. "i'm glad too see you're so confident. does that mean you won't be trying to avoid it?"
"no..." naruto said taking a step forward, and preparing for his adversary's next move. "it means that if i don't...we'll both be in trouble."
"hah! i was going to let you entertain me more...but you're just as arrogant as ever! let me show you...." sasuke closed his eyes, channeled his chakra and openned his mangekyo sharingan, bearing down eagerly upon the leaf ninja. "i'll show you what the darkness gave me...not a guiding light...a nightmareish power!"
sasuke disappeared and attacked naruto from behind, grabing him and pulling him so that their eyes would meet...but instantly, three of naruto's clones grabbed sasuke, and tossed him back.  "HE told me...the key to fighting the sharingan." the boy formed the cross seal, and another 50 clones appeared, surrounding sasuke. "so let's compare your nightmare to my resolve!". all of them lunged toward sasuke, but he already knew how to handle the situation. effortlesly, he threw them aside, as though they were standing still. he evaded every punch, every kick, and turned it against the clone. "as i knew you would do...naruto" sasuke thought. his sharingan was unbeatable at close range. but he knew naruto was not amongst his clones. sasuke pulled out his blade and made quick work of the rest, leaving the field empty. 
sasuke was now standing still, ready to counter whatever naruto was planning. then, he noticed it...two attacks...three enemies! he looked up, and saw the two forming the oodama rasengan. "so that's where you were...and that's where you burn!" sasuke quickly formed the seals for the fireball jutsu, and got ready to release it. but his right hand was grabbed...from below! the clone had hidden using the decapitation jutsu, and now he had sasuke immobilized. naruto plunged downward, and hit sasuke as strongly as he could. the impact shattered the ground, while naruto jumped at a safe distance. "you relied too much on your eyes. even though they didn't deceive you, there was one weakness i could exploit: your confidence." the dust settled...leaving the hole visible, and there, unconcious lay sasuke. naruto smiled and approached him cautiosly. "confidence swings both ways...you fool!" the boy felt his shoulder grabbed. the sasuke he had seen in the hole dissapeared in a puff of smoke. "shadow clones are dangerous, but those like us CAN put the to good use..." these were the words that came from the clone that had grabbed naruto. sasuke then released the transformation...naruto was speachless. "i was looking forward to beating you with your own tactics." naruto tried to use what jiraiya had tought him...looking at his opponents feet, he swung at sasuke, trying desperately to put some distance between them. but sasuke slided to the side, tackled naruto and pinned him down. not giving him time to close his eyes, he immediately used the move he was looking forward to the most: tsukuyomi!
naruto's sight went black. he could only hear his own breathing. then he tried oppening his eyes...and then he saw IT. the black and white world of the moongod. one of the strongest genjutsu known in the ninja world...and he was in it. then a voice echoed in the distance. "i felt like that too...when HE brought me here. but this is my domain...and you...you're going too see the horror..smell it..taste it." naruto then found himself with his back to a wooden pole. "know your weakness!"  his hands were raised and nailed to the pole. naruto screamed in pain. "you will be cut...1000 times!" sasuke drew his sword...and instantly, the surroundings filled with his copies holding their swords toward the helpless boy. sasuke and his copies charged at naruto...the uchiha was contemplating the scene...the feeling he would get and gripped the hilt even tighter.
sasuke lunged...but towards his amazement, his copies had dissapeared...and his blade had been stopped. he raised his eyes to see this impediment...and his face quivered in horror. behind the tied and bleeding naruto stood the ninetailed fox demon, huge and menacing, with bloodlust in his eyes. his paw had blocked the chokutou. sasuke took a few steps back...he could not grasp what had happened.
"wha...what is this?! this world is under my sovereignity! you...you cannot be here!"
the kyubi laughed loudly...and sneered at the boy. "you are just about the age HE was when he first masteryed the kaleidoscope eye...i remember well..."
"who? who are you talking about?!" sasuke demanded.
"younglings...they tend to think that the past is dead and buried...that their present is all that matters. allow me to enlighten you upon the error of your ways..."
the demon started walking toward sasuke...slowly, as if stalking a wounded prey. sasuke was overcome with terror and speachless. the ninetailed drew close to him and spoke again: "madara...i owe my freedom to him. but by no means do i respect or hold him dear in anyway! he freed me for his own ends...and used this technique to hold me at bay. and then he imprisoned me as an enemy! but unlike him, i am eternal. so i watched...and waited. and during the century i was emprisoned, i thought of nothing but how to overcome the Tsukuyomi. how to mold my chakra..how to manifest my form...and even how to cancel the rules of this puny realm..." sasuke tried to cut him with the chokutou, but it immediately shattered against the beast's teeth. the kyubi snarled and bit off sasuke's arm. he screamed in torment, and instinctively tried to run. the demon grabbed his left arm, and ripped it from the joint tossing sasuke away. he was now overcome with terror, trying to crawl as far away as he could. the fox approached him and spoke again: "....and there was one more thought...one image that i longed to see with these tired demon eyes...the bloody corpse of the next fool who attempted to use trukuyomi against me! so now, you die, fool!" the fox crushed sasuke's legs under his foot and drew closer to the boy. "NO! NO! I CANNOT DIE HERE!" sasuke yelled. "agreed...death is too fine an exit for the likes of you. so let your passing entertain me a little longer..."
at that point naruto could not take anymore. he broke the bonds that held his hands and walked toward them, with bleeding hands. "GET OFF HIM NOW!"

- nu am crezut ca o lupta intre naruto si sasuke ma va tine cu ochii lipiti de ecran, pentru ca aduce ceva nou: pana acum, toate pe care le-am citit erau la fel
- descrierea (ti-am mai spus) luptei si atitudinilor personajelor sunt foarte veridice si bogate, asa ca pot sa vad efectiv lupta
- sa te mai felicit pentru cunoasterea unui volcabular atat de bogat in engleza?

naruto did his best to fight the pain and stand. aside from the injuries he had received from sasuke, the sheer pressure of tsukuyomi's dimmension was overwhelming him. but, as always, seeing hid friend in mortal danger was more than a sufficient trigger for the boy. as he slowly limped toward the beast, naruto starred bravely into his gaze. "let him go! this is between the two of us!" the kyubi turned and faced naruto. he sneered at the boy's comment and grinned. "are you certain...?"
"i said get off him!" "how very LIKE a ninja of the leaf...strong enough to challenge a more powerful oponnent, but too weak to do what it takes to win..." "i don't know..nor do i care for what you say! release sasuke!" "how the mighty have risen...he would have killed you without even flinching! and you allow yourself the luxury of mercy in a fight to the death? indeed a fool of a partner am i cursed with..." he then sighed..."i'm no partner to you! the only one that ever acknowledged me is standing at your feet...now let him go! or i swear i'll take my own life...and yours!" the fox now stood silent. he lifted his paw of the crushed sasuke, and moved toward naruto. he began to fade as he neared the boy, until only a crimsom mist remained..and then there was silence.
sasuke closed his eyes, and the world he had created through illusion began closing in, shrinking....then it dissapeared in a flash. the two woke up, lying on the ground and quivering in pain. allthough sasuke had taken considerebly more damage, he was the first to rise to his feet...not because of stamina, but due to his warriness of naruto. he thought he had experienced all horrors possible with orochimaru, but he was now thrown aback by the overwhelming power of the tailed beast. naruto got up as well, slowly, but not staggering. he had a sad look in his eyes, as if regretting what had happend to sasuke. "i wish you didn't have to go through that...i tried to tell you..." sasuke exploded with rage: "save your pity! at the very least you should have let him finish me! but i see you're still set on the merciful approach..." naruto then looked up at the uchiha, his eyes determined, his gaze piercing: "you'll never win by throwing your life away! not against me....nor
itachi! you can have your fight to the death...and kill me if i lose...but i WILL bring you back, and i won't let akatsuki or that demon fox get in my way!"
sasuke grinned. "like a broken record...then let me enlighten you...i can no longer use THAT against you..."sasuke said pointing to his eyes."nor can you use HIS chakra...we seem to be at a stalemate..."
naruto smiled. "what are you talking about? a ninja has thousands of ways to fight! we'll just have to improvise..."
"that's what i do best..." sasuke drew his kusanagi again and pointed it's tip at naruto. he activated his chidori field, and was ready to charge. naruto took a defensive position. he had seen this attack before. sasuke lunged forward. naruto's shadow clone tried to block him, but was quickly slashed by the attack. sasuke continued his charge until he was right next to naruto. he lifted his sword and slashed as hard as he could. "ni-dai kuchiyose![double summoning]" to his amazement, the sword had been stopped inside the smoke of naruto's summoning. the attack hadn't connected...sasuke leapt back and took a second look. in front of naruto stood a bamboo armored yellow skin toad, as tall as naruto. it spoke: "while i'm around, no one touches naruto-nii san!" naruto laughed. "thanks gamatatsu...right on time..." it was naruto's old friend, whom he had saved before...the younger son of gamabunta, the frog boss.
sasuke looked annoyed..."how predictable...you intend to hide behind that?" "actually...no...you see, these guys are here to fight with me...to bring you to your senses."
"THESE guys?" sasuke sensed the other presence...he dodged the blade right on time and then saw his attacker. the red skin frog, elder son of gamabunta, gamakichi. "hey bro...nice blade ya got there..." he jumped to naruto's side. "looking all surprised like that is really uncool...take a gander at naruto here...he's ready! you better be prepared too, punk!"
"you see" naruto added "it's been almost three years since i started training...in the mean time, these two trained too...the frog boss said that they had to become strong like him. they're not quite there yet, but they work well together. and ero-senin said that the best way to fight a pupil of orochimaru, is with partners like these...even with shadow clone, i can't beat your sharingan, but WE can..."
naruto and the two charged sasuke...he drew his blade ready for the clash. gamakichi slashed and hit sasuke's blade...naruto came from the side and tried to hit him with a straight punch. sasuke ducked, pulled his blade and targeted naruto. the boy jumped back, crouched, and cleared the path for gamatatsu to block the blade again. sensing an attack from behind, sasuke charged his chidori field again...it hit a shadow clone of naruto's and dispelled it. gamakichi attacked with his sword again, sasuke evaded, and turn to cut the frog. naruto caught his arm, and threw him to the side. sasuke landed on his feet, frustrated about his attacks not connecting. "your eyes can read my moves...and they can read their moves too...but even though we're slower than you, we look out for each other. this is the "futatsu gama ryu"[double frog style]."
sasuke sighed..." a stupid name for a technique...allthough i'll admit it IS remotely efficient...but tell me, do you know who the frog's enemy is?"
naruto understood his plan. "get back guys!" they all jumped far away from sasuke....a milisecond after, the ground where they had stood exploded, and two large snakes bursted outwards, hissing and watching their prey. sasuke leapt on one of the heads. "it was time for their meal...thank you for providing, naruto..."

lupta decurge bine, improvizatii, diversitate, descrierea imprejurarilor si a simturilor, ca sa nu mai vorbim de impresii. toate foarte bune, mai ai de lucru putin la stil.

"damn..." naruto thought "this is the worst that could happen...snakes and frogs don't go well together..." "hey!" gamakichi said beside him..."why are we running? we can take those guys!" "maybe...but sasuke is there too...and his target is me. he won't care if the snakes get killed. he'll use them to keep you guys busy, and then he'll come for me." the toad remained silent, as they ran from the two large snakes. gamatatsu thought and said..."so..can't we get out of this situation?" naruto smiled. "well...we do still have the move we practiced..." the frog brothers remembered..and instantly they split into three different directions.
"hmph...three targets and three trackers...but you are still the one i want to kill, naruto..." sasuke hopped on one of the sankes' heads and continued to pursue naruto. the leaf ninja stopped suddenly, turned arround, and formed the seal for the shadow clone. a large cloud of smoke envelopped him..."kage gama bunshin no jutsu!"...when it lifted, all sasuke could see were many copies of the two toads. "hah...forget something?" sasuke used his eyes to trace the original naruto, and the two toads, but all he could see were frog forms sharing the same color chakra. "how?! i should be able to see him" the toads spoke out..."you can see us...but naruto now shares his chakra with all of us...so you can't distinguish the color anymore. now then...those snakes of yours are getting a little sore on the eyes for us toads...."
the troop of toads leapt toward sasuke and his summons...the snakes split up in order to counter attack. the clash was violent. as one clone was dispersed, more stabbed and struck the snakes. "he may beat the snakes...but i know this trick...i'll just wait for him to slip up..." gamakichi concentrated his chakra into his katana, and charged one of the snakes head on. the snake slithered forward aswell...but was soon pinned down by several of gamatatsu's copies...the slash sliced him in between from the mouth to the tail. "ha...this is for all the times i had to run away from your kind when i was little!"
sasuke jumped over to where the snake had fallen, formed his seals and incinerated the are with his Houenkyuu [burning blast]. gamakichi was caught in the blast, but his brother came from behind to defend him. sasuke's snake cut him off and stared the toad down, as the uchiha approached gamakichi. "fried toad....such a disgusting meal...but if it will draw naruto out..." sasuke pulled his chokutou out, and lifted it above the immobilized frog grinning. "no you don't!" naruto leapt out, and charged sasuke, gripping his hand. sasuke turned and looked at the boy..."bad move..." he kicked him, threw him back, and ran to grab the boy. "only you could think of move so efficient, and the ruin it by refusing to lose someone....fool!" naruto looked at him and said "and only i could trick you twice like this..." he turned into gamatatsu and grabbed sasuke...."damn! but where's...." "RASENGAN!" the other snake sasuke had summoned was blown into pieces, and naruto charged at him, with two other clones following. "hold him tatsu! this'll be over soon!" he began forming the rasengan in his hand, and used the other clones to perform the nature chakra manipulation...it was now ready to strike."FUTON: RASENGAN!"...naruto dispelled the summons of the frogs, and hit sasuke point blank with the spiraling wind sphere. the impact shook the ground, and the shockwave resonated far away. sasuke tried to defen, but naruto had attacked to fast...to unpredictably...the uchiha was thrown far into the landscape, hit the ground hard, forming a larg gape.
naruto gasped for air as he looked at the point of impact. "that...should do it....i finally got to show you....my resolve...". beyond the unsettling dust, the silouhette of a winged creature could be seen...then, naruto felt the pressure...the dark chakra emmerging from sasuke...the power of the juuin [cursed seal]. "when i told you i was more special than you...it was just that i was trying to deal with you having the kyubi's power. now i know..and i see...that in the end, i'm not special. i've renounced everything to kill HIM. i've thrown myself into chaos...and i've become undefeatable. but don't take my word for it...come...and die by the claws of this HAWK OF THE UCHIHA!"

naruto was still catching his breath. sasuke's killing intent was overwhelming the atmosphere around them. the young uchiha was not attacking...like the snake that had been his master, he was slowly enjoying staring down his pain. "contrary to what most would think...the sharingan does not predict the future..not entirely. still...i knew...i knew it would come to this. your death...at my hands..." sasuke charged fiercely, and hid naruto with a strong punch, throwing him back. using the shunshin no jutsu[flash god jutsu] and his cursed seal enhanced speed, he caught up tu the boy in mid air, kicked him down into the ground. naruto was breathless...the strain from using the wind release and the damage he had already received were taking their toll. sasuke jumped toward naruto, uppercut him, lifting his body slightly, and then punched hard, throwing the helpless naruto into the stone wall behind him...naruto gagged, and coughed blood from his internal injuries as he lay helpless. sasuke slowly neared him, his gaze as penetrating as ever. truly...like a hawk nearing his prey.
he grabbed naruto's throat, pulled him closer..."we no longer fight as ninjas. therefore, you no longer have to hold back from expressing pain...feel freer.." sasuke squeezed his grip, but naruto refused to let up. sasuke grinned..."as persistent as ever i see...why? why do you still try...for my sake. i threw you away!" sasuke had lost patience. "i threw you all away! in order to become the avanger i am! in order to kill him! so why...why do i still matter to you losers? you're paralyzed with pain, your chakra is all but gone...you have lost...so admit the pain, and submit to it." naruto suddenly smiled...sasuke couldn't believe it...then the leaf ninja, tried to speak out...his words choking at the tip of his mouth from the pain..."can't....a brother....be a little selfish...?" sasuke was dumb founded. " you lay here dying, and yet you still spout such nonsense! then i will let you pass into the next world...."
sasuke raised his hand, and gathered his lightning chakra. the amount however was huge...huge enough, sasuke thought, to wipe out all trace of his bond with naruto...the boy was slowly slipping into unconciousness...sasuke's spirit, the surroundings, even his own thoughts were fading farther. blackness now surrounded his awarness. and a familiar voice echoed..."you just gonna die like this?" the kyubi had resurfaced..."shut up..." naruto said irritated. "he is serious ya know...he will kill you...your only chance to match him is to use me...so why...?" "shut up...." "you say that...but in your heart, you desire my help..." "i said shut up!" naruto my suddenly became aware of the answer, and oppened his eyes wide..."you're right..." he said to the fox demon. "hehe...i knew you would see it my way..." "if i fight with you, i can only match him...but in order to rescue him..i have to surpass him!" "what?...and you hope to do so alone...?" alone..that word echoed in naruto's mind...flashes of his training flooded his thoughts..kakashi, ebisu, jiraiya, yamato, sakura, neji, kiba...all the people he had fought and met..."no...not alone." naruto turned and faced the demon's eyes. "but not with you!" a gust of strong wind started blowing, slowly erasing the fox's presence..."no! how...? you had no such power!" naruto grinned. "not i.....WE do. i follow the path of hokage! and you....are no longer on that path....begone!"
sasuke's chidori was ready...he hesitated for a moment reminiscing his time with naruto. "farewell...may you find your answer in the next life..." he then plunged the lightning ball into the wall and naruto. the wall burst into pieces, shattered, and the shock threw sasuke away. "wha...what is this? the...kyubi?!" the stones were still crumbling in mid air...then a strong gale of wind pushed them aside. then sasuke saw him....naruto. he was now surrounded by the wind...no...it was emanating from naruto! "his wounds...his power..." sasuke was astounded by the sudden turn of events. naruto fealt his injuries slowyly healing. he could breathe again. and the air arround him...he felt connected to it. he could see it..and control it. "hm...this is what kakashi told me...wind type chakra huh?" he then lookd toward sasuke. there was no hatred or pride in his eyes...simply resolve. sasuke could sense this. "no curtain call yet, sasuke. now that i've found my answer, i wanna show you...you and all those who carved the path on which i walk..." sasuke laughed a little. "then hurry up...and show me!" sasuke charged at naruto again, even faster than before...just as his hit was about to connect, naruto stepped aside and dodged. the uchiha immediately turned, and started his onslaught if attacks. but naruto was calmly avoiding them, and not losing ground..."no...he's not dodgindg...I AM MISSING!" using his eyes to see the air arround naruto, sasuke finally understood. the aura of wind chakra that enshrouded the boy, was deviating and dulling his attacks. sasuke stepped back...he looked at naruto and ground his teeth. "you kept it hidden this far...your true power." "no...i just found it. you helped me. and now i'm giving it back to you, bit by bit..."
naruto focused his aura, and blew the dust away...the pressure was incredible. "you said we don't fight as shinobi..." the wind blew naruto's forehead protector away, but naruto caught it in his hand. "then so be it!" he tied the protector to his right arm. "i will be a konoha-nin as long as i live...but for now...let us fight to decide the fate of our bonds...as rivals!"
